Relaxed and informal, this Victorian hunting lodge is set in 4 hectares of the Cairngorms National Park and offers comfortable surroundings with an award-winning chef, a fine wine list and a whisky bar with 70 different whiskies. Guests can enjoy the jazz night, take lunch on the terrace or just recline in front of a roaring fire. This charming, family-friendly country house hotel was renovated in 2007 and comprises a total of 12 rooms. Facilities on offer to guests include a lobby area with a 24-hour check-in/check out service, a hotel safe, a bar, a restaurant, conference facilities and Internet access. The hotel is perfectly placed as a gateway to the Whisky Experience, just a 5-minute drive from Grantown-on-Spey. Within a very few kilometres, guests will find distilleries and cooperages, and the famed Spey water runs right past the the front of the hotel. The Cairngorms National Park is on the doorstep with wonderful mountain walks in the summer and skiing in the winter. Visitors can go dolphin-watching or just enjoy a walk along the beautiful sandy beaches of the Moray Firth, which is within a 1/2 an hour's drive of the hotel. They will find restaurants, bars and nightspots, in addition to links to the public transport network, a 15-minute drive away in Aviemore. It is a 20-minute drive to Loch Ness, and Inverness, with its shopping venues, is just 25 minutes away by car.
